Counseling is a collaborative process designed to empower clients through increased self-awareness, personal growth, and meaningful change.
Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with feeling heard, respected, and supported. I provide a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that honors their individual needs, culture, strengths, and life circumstances.
Using a person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach, I integrate evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, self-awareness, and practical skill-building. Together, we identify patterns, process emotions, strengthen coping skills, and develop realistic strategies that support personal growth and emotional wellness.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, stress, burnout, maternal mental health concerns, and life transitions. I recognize that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process; therefore, I tailor counseling to each client's goals, strengths, readiness, and lived experiences.
My philosophy reflects the foundation of Simplistic Solutions Counseling & Wellness Services: Acknowledge. Process. Reframe. Cultivate. Together, we acknowledge where you are, process what you have experienced, reframe perspectives that may no longer serve you, and cultivate healthier ways of moving forward.
What Clients Can Expect From Their First Session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a comfortable and collaborative therapeutic relationship. I understand that starting counseling can bring a range of emotions, so there is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin.
During our time together, I will learn more about you, what brings you to counseling, your current concerns, important life experiences, strengths, support systems, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We will also discuss confidentiality, the counseling process, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Most importantly, the first session allows us to begin identifying your goals and determining how we can work together in a way that feels meaningful and manageable for you. My goal is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process and the next steps in your counseling journey.
